Tim D. Binegar
Insurance Professional
Brief info
Who am I?
I’m an Ohio native who accepted a new job position and relocated to Phoenix in 1979. I’m
constantly working to insure my insurance information is current. I’m learning to find a balance
between work and leisure time.
Why do I work for Group Plans Inc?
During the years medical underwriting was used to determine eligibility for health insurance, as
an independent broker with Group Plans, I represented most of the companies offering
individual health insurance coverage. Representing a variety of company’s permitted me the
flexibility to find the best health plan for each individual/family.
Ask me about…
Health, life, dental, vision, long term care, income replacement/disability insurance coverage.
My background…
I was raised in Southern Ohio (Dayton) and attended the University of Cincinnati. I accepted a
job offer to open a telemarketing office for the Hertz Corporation in Phoenix. When the Hertz
division closed, I followed my interest in investing and was hired and trained by Prudential -
Bache Securities. I resigned after 6 years with Prudential-Bache Securities and ended my full
time employment in the investment advisory business with a regional brokerage firm. I was
hired by Arizona Blue Cross Blue Shield in a new department created to respond to inquiries
for individual and Medicare Supplement health plan information. I’m grateful for the experience
and training I received. I resigned after five years to pursue my interest in becoming an
insurance broker. I had been working part time at Group Plans while working at Blue Cross
Blue Shield. Group Plans offered me the opportunity to continue investment advising. I also
was able to represent different companies who offer health insurance and Medicare
Supplement/Medigap plans.
What you might not know about me…
I have lived in Phoenix for most of my life. Along with continuing to become the best insurance
representative I can be, I enjoy entertaining family and friends at home, viewing select films, TV
programs and looking for ways to make exercise interesting.
